8 Ways to Optimize Space in A Small Bathroom

We see so many homes in Old Toronto that have super tiny bathrooms. When we plan our renovations on these, we work closely with our clients to ensure that every item chosen serves a purpose and maximizes space potential. Read on for a few of our Tricks.

  1. Choose a Wall-Mounted Faucet

Installing a faucet on the wall means more space on the counter, and can therefore allow a larger sink/vanity top. Visually, this also creates a clean, uncluttered look to the sink area.

2. Install A Custom Mirror that Spans the Entire Wall

We all know that mirror tricks the mind into thinking there is more space than there actually is. Eliminating frame and detail, the space feels more continual, and not chopped up.

3. Work With Larger Prints

Believe it or not, larger-scale prints create the illusion of a larger space, in contrast to micro/fine prints. Keep this in mind when choosing tile, Shower curtains, or Wallpaper.

4. Use A Clear Glass Return Wall for the Shower

Often times there is a small drywall-wall that separates the shower and toilet area. Knock that down and replace with a glass wall, as part of your new custom shower. This keeps better light in the shower, and keeps the space open and harmonized.

5. Go Vertical !

We may be limited indofar as the footprint of the bathroom, but that only means we need to make good use of the vertical space. Installing a sequence of shelving, with various baskets/ containers, creates more storage solutions ( and looks lovely ! )

6. Opt for a Closed Vanity Cabinet

Often small bathrooms get outfitted with small pedestal sinks. Although pretty, they serve little unction. If you look hard, you can find petite vanities that are narrow in width and shallow in depth, and still enable you to store a multitude of toiletries.
